Serial No. 623 NO/RMT:ms Docket Nos-. 50-280 50-281 License Nos. DPR-32 DPR-37 We have reviewed your letter of July 7, 1980 in reference to the inspection conducted at Surry Power Station on June 3-6, *1980, and reported in IE Inspection Report Nos. 50-280/80-21 and 50-281/80-22.
Our response to the specific infraction is attached.
We have determined that no proprietary information is contained in the report-Accordingly, the Virginia Electric and Power Company has no objection to these inspection reports being made a matter of public disclosure

RESPONSE TO VIOLATION LISTED IN IE INSPECTION REPORT NOS.
50-280/80-21 AND 50-281/80-22 Attachment As required by Technical Specification 6.4.A, detailed written procedures' with appropriate check off lists shall be prov~ded for release of radioactive effluents.
Contrary to the above 9 there were no written procedures for preparation of*
efficieny calibration standard for the Ge (Li) detectors which are used to assure compliance with radioactive effluent release limits.
