Dear Mr. Denton:

Serial No. 813 PSEC/HSM:ms Docket Nos. 50-280 50-281 License Nos. DPR-32 DPR-37 In our letters of March 19, 1980 and July 7, 1980 we described the disassembly and inspection program for the reactor coolant pump supports at Surry, Unit No. 1.

Based upon a telephone conversation between your Mr. D. Neighbors and Vepco's Mr. H. S. McKay on September 22, 1980, in which Mr. Neighbors stated that the proposed program was acceptable to your staff, we plan to proceed with this program in the near future.

After this inspection is complete we will make the results available for your staff's review at Surry, if they so desire.

If there are further questions on this matte*r, please contact us.
