Serial No. 548 LQA/WR1.'v1: pwc Docket Nos. 50-280 50-281 License Nos. DPR-32 DPR-37 Enclosed you will find Virginia Electric and Power Company's check for $8,000.00 in payment of the c~vil penalties proposed by your Notice of Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties, dated May 28, 1980.
The penalties arise from a single incident, detailed in I&E Report Nos. 50-280/80-16 and 50-281/80-17, in which a radioactive waste shipment from the Surry Nuclear Power Plant arrived at*the Chem-Nuclear disposal site at Barnwell, South Carolina with radiation levels in excess of Department of Transportation.Regulations.
