DPR-32 DPR-37 SURRY POWER STATION FIRE PROTECTION MODIFICATIONS Ammendment Nos. 54 and 53 to the Surry Power Station Operating License require facility modifications for fire protection.

Attached for your information is the Project Status Summary.

Specific information regarding the status of the projects with target due dates of February 29, 1980 are given below:

(a)

The fire extinguisher mounting brackets required by item 3.1.13 are installed.

Item 3.1.13 will be complete upon receipt and installa-tion of six fire extinguishers.

All fire extinguishers will be in place by March 31, 1980.

(b)

The oil retaining dikes (item 3.1.15A) are complete and 75 percent of the floor drain covers are installed.

This item will be complete by March 31, 1980.

(c)

The air flow detectors (item 3.1.2) are being installed.

The modifi-cation will be complete March 31, 1980.

We will continue to inform you of our progress in implementing the requirements and will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
