VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY RICHMOND,VIRGIN.XA 23261 January 17,.1980 Mr. Harold R. Denton, Director Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Attn:
Mr. A. Schwencer, Chief Operating Reactors Branch No. 1 Division of Operating Reactors U. S, Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C.

Dear Mr. Denton:
SURRY POWER STATION UNIT 1 AMENDMENT TO OPERATING LICENSE STEAM GENERATOR INSPECTION PROGRAM Serial No.
006 LQA/ESG:dbs Docket No. 50-280 License No. DPR-32 By our letter of April 6,,1-979, (Serial No. 159) we requested an operating license amendment to allow seven months of equivalent full power operation prior to the next steam generator inspection.
Results of the latest steam generator inspection were forwarded with our letter of May 31, 1979 (Serial No. 373).
Based on recent discussions with Mr. D. Neighbors of the staff, we understand that the staff wishes to specify that the next inspection be conducted following six months of equivalent full power operation.
We have considered this position, and have no objection to its being reflected in the license amendment.
cc Mr. James P. O'Reilly, Director Office of Inspection and Enforcement Region II Very truly yours Z:,, 111! -.,f/-acc0~
