IE Bulletin 79-17 Surry Power Station Units 1 and 2 North Anna Power Station Units 1 and 2
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
We have reviewed the subject Bulletin, "Pipe Cracks in Stagnant Borated Water Systems at PWR Plants", and have had discussions with your Mr. :Economos and Mr. Herdt about the scope of the required UT inspections and the techniques to be used.
We understand that a revision to this bulletin is forthcoming clarifying the inspection requirements.
We therefore request a 90 day deferral of the completion date for the inspections until January 23, 1980, or until 90 days after the issuance of the revised bulletin, whichever is later.
We wiil forward the results of the inspections consistent with the requirements of the bulletin.
