2 Annual Performance Assessment
- Pilgrim operated safely in 2017
- Pilgrims performance for 2017 warrants continued placement in Column 4
- NRC noted some improvement in performance, but sustainability remains to be determined.

- 2015 - NRC placed Pilgrim in Column 4
- 2016 - NRC enhanced oversight and inspections began
- 2017 - NRC completed comprehensive team inspections (95003)
- NRC reviewed Pilgrim Recovery Plan
- Confirmatory Action Letter (CAL) issued 4
3 Enhanced Oversight Activities
- Additional region-based resources to support enhanced baseline inspection o Increased problem identification and resolution samples on previously-identified performance issues o More in-depth inspections o Additional inspection resources
- Increased NRC management oversight 5
- 15,000+ inspection hours o 33 findings of very low safety significance o Performance Indicators - all Green
- Significant Inspection and oversight in 2017:
o Supplemental Inspection (95003) o Refueling Outage Inspection, o Review of Entergys Recovery Plan o CAL development; 1st CAL inspection 2017 Inspection Findings and Performance Indicators 6
4 Confirmatory Action Letter Follow-up Inspections
- CAL follow-up inspections scheduled to independently verify effectiveness of corrective actions
- NRC inspectors will o review CAL items and focus areas to determine if corrective actions are completed and effective in accordance with the CAL commitments o evaluate whether Pilgrim has demonstrated sustained performance improvement 7
Confirmatory Action Letter Follow-up Inspections
- Five quarterly team inspections o 1st inspection completed in 4th quarter of 2017 o 2nd inspection is ongoing o 3 additional inspections scheduled for 2018
- Additional follow-up inspections will be scheduled, as warranted, until all CAL commitments are satisfied.

- Pilgrim operated safely in 2017
- NRC has seen some performance improvement, but the plant needs to demonstrate sustained improved performance to be removed from Column 4
- Pilgrim will continue to receive heightened NRC inspection and oversight in 2018 9
