1107 N Canal St Carlsbad, NM, 88220 Email: CarlsbadMennonite@gmail.com General Comment Interim Storage is not acceptable since it will likely become permanent, for which it is not designed. We have no guarantee, nor reason to believe, that the federal government will have the political will or the finances to again transfer this in 50-100 years. We are kicking a dirty can down the road for our descendents, and the civilizations that follow, to take care of our waste. Let's do it once, and right, and responsibly, instead of spending billions on a stopgap fiasco. We don't even do temporary landfills, which are not toxic, so why play around with nuclear waste in an "Interim Storage" that will mark, and plague, our community for thousands of years.
I do not consent to the Holtec project.
