REMARKS: IMC 0308 Attachment 3 Appendix F, Technical Basis Fire Protection Significance Determination Process (Supplemental Guidance for Implementing IMC 0609 Appendix F) at Power Operations, is a major revision to reflect revision of IMC 0609 Appendix F, including all of its attachments, to update the analysis methods for consistency with the guidance in NUREG/CR-6850 and superseding guidance in NFPA 805 FAQs, NUREG-2169, NUREG-2178, and NUREG/CR-7010.
IMC 0609 Appendix F, Fire Protection Significance Determination Process, is a major revision of the entire manual chapter, including all of the attachments, to update the analysis methods for consistency with the guidance in NUREG/CR-6850 and superseding guidance in NFPA 805 FAQs, NUREG-2169, NUREG-2178, and NUREG/CR-7010.
IMC 0609 Appendix F Attachment 1, Fire Protection Significance Determination Process Worksheet, Major revision to incorporate substantial changes to Phases 1 and 2. Incorporated recommendations from ROP Feedback Form 0609F1-2168.

IMC 0609 Appendix F Attachment 2, Degradation Rating Guidance, has been revised to remove moderate degradation rating guidance, as it is no longer used in the Phase 1 or Phase 2 process (findings are either assigned a low or high degradation rating). Revised to re-order the categories based on changes to Phase 1. Renamed Degradation Rating Guidance.
IMC 0609 Appendix F Attachment 3, Guidance for Identifying Credible Fire Scenarios, is a major revision to reflect changes to the Phase 2 process and to include guidance for the impact of the finding category on fire scenario development, identifying ignition sources, and identifying targets and secondary combustibles by fire damage state.
IMC 0609 Appendix F Attachment 4, Guidance for Determining Fire Ignition Frequency, has been revised to reflect changes to the Phase 2 process and for consistency with the guidance in NUREG/CR-6850 and superseding guidance in NFPA 805 FAQs and NUREG-2169. Renamed Guidance for Determining Fire Ignition Source Frequency.
IMC 0609 Appendix F Attachment 5, Characterizing Fire Ignition Sources, has been revised to reflect changes to the Phase 2 process and for consistency with the guidance in NUREG/CR-6850 and superseding guidance in NFPA 805 FAQs and NUREG-2178.
IMC 0609 Appendix F Attachment 6, Guidance for the Identification of Targets and Their Ignition and Damage Criteria, has been revised to reflect changes to the Phase 2 process.
IMC 0609 Appendix F Attachment 7, Guidance for Fire Non-Suppression Probability Analysis, has replaced IMC 0609, App F, Att 7 Guidance for Fire Growth and Damage Time Analysis, which has been deleted and replaced with the information that was previously in 0609 App F Att 8 Guidance for Fire Non-Suppression Probability Analysis. Guidance for fire growth and damage time analysis is no longer necessary because pre-solved tables and plots are now being used in Phase 2 to replace the use of the Fire Dynamics Tools Spreadsheets. The non-suppression probability guidance is revised for consistency with the guidance in NUREG/CR-6850 and superseding guidance in NUREG-2169.
IMC 0609 Appendix F Attachment 8, Tables and Plots Supporting the Phase 2 Risk Quantification, has replaced IMC 0609, App F, Att 8 Guidance for Fire Non-Suppression Probability Analysis, which was moved to IMC 0609, App F, Att 7. Attachment 8 is replaced with sets of pre-solved tables and plots that are used in the revised Phase 2 to replace the use of the Fire Dynamics Tools Spreadsheets.
