References:

(a) Letter from Mr. E. W. Koehler, (MARAD) to Document Control Desk (NRC),

dated December 11, 2006, Submittal of Post Shutdown Decommissioning Activities Report Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(a)(7), the United States Maritime Administration (MARAD) hereby requests withdrawal of the Nuclear Ship SAVANNAH (NSS) Post Shutdown Decommissioning Activities Report (PSDAR), Revision Owhich was submitted as Reference (a).

As a direct result of funding shortfalls associated with Continuing Appropriations Resolutions for FY 2007, MARAD has concluded the decommissioning schedule in Revision Ois no longer achievable.

Therefore, MARAD must withdraw Revision O pending its reassessment of decommissioning activities.

MARAD will revise the PSDAR as appropriate and submit Revision 1 at a future date.
