This letter is a follow-up to our visit to your library on March 31, 2016, and calls of March 9, 2017, and April 24, 2018, concerning your agreement to maintain documents related to the environmental review for the Clinch River Nuclear (CRN) Site Early Site Permit (ESP) application at your library. These documents are related to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs environmental review and preparation of an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Tennessee Valley Authoritys application for an ESP at the CRN Site.
We appreciate your willingness to assist the public in participating in the ESP application process for a new nuclear reactor site. The NRC appreciates that the Oak Ridge library is providing shelf space in your reference section for documents related to the NRC staffs environmental review of the application to allow access by the public. We requested that you add related items to the reference shelf as they are received.
The draft EIS, NUREG-2226, Environmental Impact Statement for an Early Site Permit (ESP) for the Clinch River Nuclear Site: Draft Report for Comment has been issued. Included with the package are one hard copy and one Readers Guide with DVD of the CRN Site draft EIS.
