This is a Category 3 meeting. Public participation is actively sought for this meeting to fully engage the public in a discussion of regulatory issues.
Purpose:
To conduct a public scoping meeting for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Holtec Internationals license application to construct and operate a consolidated interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel at a site in Lea County, New Mexico. At the meeting, the NRC staff will receive comments from the public on the appropriate scope of issues to be considered in, and the content of the EIS.
