PO Box415 Trenton, New Jersey 08625-0415 Tel (609) 984-7700 February 25, 1999 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 Ladies and Gentlemen:
Subject:
Salem Generating Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-272 and 50-311 License Change Request S95-18 AC Distribution System Commissioner Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) submitted the subject change request to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on March 26, 1998. The proposed change would incorporate operating requirements on the 'D' 115 Volt Vital Instrument Bus and Inverter into the Technical Specifications. These operating requirements were committed to in response to NRC Generic Letter 91-11 and are currently contained in a PSE&G Technical Specification Interpretation. Since this is the last interpretation in existence for Salem, the interpretations will be eliminated once this change is approved by the NRC.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Nuclear Engineering reviewed the above request in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.91(b). We have no comments.
If you have any questions, please contact Rich Pinney at (609) 984-7558.
Sincerely,
