Public Service Electric & Gas Company (PSE&G) hereby provides revised Technical Specification Bases pages for Salem Unit 2 specifications 3/4.3.3.1 Radiation Monitoring Instrumentation, 3/4.3.3.8 Radioactive Liquid Effluent Monitoring Instrumentation and 3/4.3.3.9 Radioactive Gaseous Effluent Monitoring I Instrumentation. These changes have been reviewed and found acceptable via the process outlined in 10CFR50.59 and are being submitted for documentation control purposes.

The Bases changes were implemented as a result of a modification made to the process monitor previously designated 2R41C. The radiation monitor was recently upgraded for higher reliability.

As a result of the upgrade, the 2R41 channels performing the monitoring functions described in Tables 3.3-6/4.3-3 and 3.3-13/4.3-13 have changed. The channel designation cross reference is contained in the Bases section and does not impact the information provided in the Technical Specification Tables.

The format of the information contained in Bases section 3/4.3.3.8 was changed for consistency with the other radiation monitoring tables and is considered an editorial enhancement. contains the revised pages for the Salem Unit 2 Bases which should be incorporated into the applicable section of the Technical Specifications. Pages B 3/4 3-3 and B 3/4 3-4a are included in this transmittal since the subject revision has caused unchanged information to be relocated onto subsequent pages. A!()011 I I
