ORDER On July 11, 2017, the NRC provided notice in the Federal Register of the application of Diversified Scientific Service, Inc. (DSSI) to amend and renew an existing export license (XW008/04) that authorized DSSI to export radioactive waste to Canada.1 The application requested an extension of the license for five years, a change to the name of an ultimate consignee, and other minor revisions to the existing license.

On August 10, 2017, Nuclear Information and Resource Service (NIRS), the Tennessee Environmental Council (TIC), and Dont Waste Michigan (DWM) filed a request for hearing and leave to intervene on DSSIs application.

On February 9, 2018, DSSI filed a revised application with the NRC to amend and renew XW008/04. The NRC will provide notice in the Federal Register of the opportunity to request a hearing on DSSIs revised application. In view of DSSIs revised application, NIRS, TIC, and DWM may, within thirty days after the date of publication in the Federal Register of the revised application, submit an amended request for hearing and intervention in response to the revised application.
