. GENERIC LETTER 88-18 PLANT RECORD STORAGE ON OPTICAL DISKS FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NOS. DPR-70, DPR-75 1 SALEM UNIT NOS.*1 & 2 AND HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATIONS DOCKET NOS. 50-272 1 50-311 1 50-354 Pubiic Service Electric and Gas has been storing some computer generated nuclear fuels records on optical disks since February 1992.
The process used to store these plant records on optical disks was reviewed and found to meet the intent of the guidance and quality controls specified in GL 88-18.
We plan to begin using optical disks for the storage of other quality assurance records for Salem Generating Station, Unit Nos.
- 1 & 2, and Hope Creek Generating station, in October 1995.
Procedural requirements will be imposed to ensure that the optical disk document imaging system complies with the quality controls specified in NRC Generic Letter (GL) 88-18, "Plant Record Storage on Optical Disks."
This information is being provided per 10CFR50.4(b)7 in accordance with GL 88-18.
