Commissioner May 19, 1995 Docket No. 50-272 -- License Amendment Application LCR-94-47 "One-time Exemption from 10 CFR 50 Appendix J, Type A Test By letter dated February 18, 1994, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) submitted the subject license change request to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
- PSE&G submitted this request as a Cost Beneficial Licensing Action (CBLA).
This amendment requests a
one-time exemption from the requirements of said Appendix "Primary Reactor Containment Leakage Testing for Water Cooled Power Reactors, " regarding integrated leak rate testing intervals; it also requests the Technical Specification amendment necessary to implement said exemption.
The exemption would provide a one-time extension for the Type A Test frequency, currently scheduled for the twelfth refueling outage, until the thirteenth outage. The exemption does not impact the frequency of the Type B and c Local Leak Tests via which containment penetrations and isolation valves are tested..
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Nuclear Engineering (BNE) has reviewed the request in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50. 91 (b) and has no comments.
