SALEM UNIT NO. 2 SALEM GENERATING STATION MONTHLY OPERATING
SUMMARY
UNIT 2 AUGUST 1994 The Unit began the period operating at full power and continued to operate at essentially 100% power until August 4, when load was briefly reduced to replace a reactor trip breaker which had failed its response time surveillance test.
The Unit was restored to full power on August 5, 1994, and continued to operate at essentially full power until August 11, 1994, when power was reduced to 50% due to a high temperature alarm on the generator exciter rectifier and to change the steam generator feedwater pumps control oil filters.
The Unit was restored to 100% power on August 12, 1994, and continued to operate at essentially full power until August 22, 1994, when a turbine auxiliaries cooling pump tripped, forcing a load reduction to 76%.
The Unit was returned to full power later, the same day.
The Unit continued to operate at essentially full power until August 31, 1994, when power was reduced to 75% due to a condenser waterbox manhole cover failure.
The Cover was replaced and the Unit was in a power escalation as the period ended.
