REVISED SWSOPI SELF ASSESSMENT SCHEDULE SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT NOS. 1 & 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) hereby submits the attached revision to our schedule for the Service Water System Operational Performance Inspection (SWSOPI) self assessment that was accepted by the NRC on March 15, 1994 for Salem Units 1 and 2.
PSE&G previously notified the NRC, (Ref. NLR-N94079 dated April 29, 1994), that the SWSOPI self assessment was to begin May 16, 1994.
As this date approached, PSE&G determined that the ongoing efforts associated with the Salem Unit 1 restart and continued demands on Salem Station manpower warranted postponement of the SWSOPI review.
PSE&G discussed this decision with the Region I staff at that time.
In review of the current activities, availability of personnel, and the support demands of ensuring a representative assessment, PSE&G has rescheduled the SWSOPI self assessment for the third quarter of 1994; to begin September 6, 1994.
At this time, PSE&G does not anticipate any other changes to assessment activities that were presented to the NRC on March 8, 1994.
Should changes in scope or assessment personnel become necessary over the next several months, however, PSE&G will discuss the changes with the Region and supply any necessary follow-up information.
