SALEM GENERATING STATION LICENSE NO. DPR-70 DOCKET NO. 50-272 UNIT NO. 1 November 22, 1993 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION SURVEILLANCE 4.4.5.5.a NOTIFICATION On November 10, 1993, Steam Generator (S/G) tube plugging, in support of the eleventh refueling outage, was completed.
Attached is a list of the plugged tube locations. In all, twenty-six (26} tubes were plugged due to imperfection depths greater than or equal to 40% and two (2) were plugged due to imperfection depths between 30% and 40%.
This notification is being made, within fifteen (15) days after tube plugging, as required by Technical Specification Surveillance 4.4.5.5.a MJPJ:dpc r-------- -

All distorted bobbin coil signals were inspected via RPC probes to further evaluate potential indications.. In those cases where the RPC inspection confirmed a defect, through-wall depth was determined to be greater than 40%.
