CLARIFICATION OF RESPONSE TO GENERIC LETTER 87-02, SUPPLEMENT 1 MAR l 9 1993 NLR-N93034 SALEM GENERATING STATION -
UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 In response to your November 13, 1992 letter and subsequent telephone conversations, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) hereby submits the following clarification to our response to the subject Generic Letter Supplement:
COMMITMENT TO THE GIP PSE&G, as a member of the Seismic Qualification Utility Group (SQUG) ha~ been responding to Generic Letter 87-02 and its Supplement 1 in a manner so as to be consistent with the SQUG dialogue and agreements with the NRC staff.
As was our intention in our previous submittals, we hereby commit to the Generic Implementation Procedure (GIP) Revision 2, in its entirety, including the implementation guidance.
Additionally, as stated in our previous submittals, any deviation from the implementation guidance of the GIP by PSE&G would be done in accordance with the provisions of Part I, Section 1.3 of the GIP, Revision 2, as supplemented by the NRC staff in its SSER No. 2, dated May 22, 1992.
