REQUEST FOR AMENDMENT FACILITY OPERATING LICENSES DPR-70 AND DPR-75 SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 The purpose of this letter is to formally withdraw PSE&G's request for amendment to Facility Operating Licenses DPR-70 and DPR-75 for Salem Generating Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2, transmitted to you by letter dated July 10, 1990 (LCR 86-11).

This amendment request was to add a statement to each of the Salem licenses that the terms of the May 6, 1983 order have been satisfied by incorporating the long term corrective action requirements into the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR).

Per our discussion with Mr. J. Stone, NRR Licensing Project Manager for Salem, PSE&G formally withdraws the request for license amendment.

PSE&G will update the UFSAR to include the long term corrective actions as originally committed.

A copy of this letter has been forwarded to the State of New Jersey in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR. 50.91.
