Title:

Workshop to Develop a Strategic Vision for Advanced Reactor Standards Date and Time: Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Location: NRC Three White Flint North, HQ-3WFN-1C03 11601 Landsdown Street Rockville, MD 20852 Category: This is a Category 3 meeting. Public participation is actively sought for this meeting to fully engage the public in a discussion of regulatory issues.

Purpose:

The American Nuclear Society (ANS) and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) have organized a workshop for industry partners to develop a strategic vision for advanced reactors standards. The workshop will provide an opportunity for designers, vendors, owners, regulators, and representatives of standards development organizations (SDOs) to discuss standards needs to support advanced reactors. The workshop will include a brief introduction before allowing most of the time for breakout sessions to achieve the goal of developing a path forward and setting priorities for the development of standards from across all SDOs. Participants are asked to come prepared with suggestions for revising existing standards or developing new standards.

There is no fee to participate in person or remotely (webinar/teleconference); however, physical attendance is strongly encouraged for optimum engagement. Registration is required by Friday, April 20, 2018. See details on https://bit.ly/2pAhTsV

4. Breakout session of interest (high temperature reactors, fast reactors, or molten salt reactors)

Remote Participation Those participating remotely are asked to register for both the morning and afternoon webinars. The morning webinar (8:30 - 10:30 a.m. EDT)

will include introductions and technology task group presentations. A short break will be taken after the morning webinar before parallel breakout sessions begin. Participation in breakout sessions is offered by teleconference only (see Agenda). The afternoon webinar (2:30 - 4:30 p.m. EDT) will provide closing summaries.
