INSERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM FIFTH REFUELING OUTAGE SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-311 Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) hereby provides the Inservice Inspection schedule for the Salem Unit 2 fifth refueling outage, scheduled to begin on March 31, 1990.
This information is being provided in accordance with Article IWA-6220(a) of Section XI of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. is a summary of the inservice inspection examinations to be performed during the outage. is the schedule for performance of these examinations prior to and during the outage.

SUMMARY
OF INSERVICE INSPECTION EXAMINATIONS SALEM UNIT 2 - FIFTH REFUELING OUTAGE A.
Southwest Research Institute will conduct:
- 1.
ISI 44 liquid penetrant examinations 3 magnetic particle examinations 50 manual ultrasonic examinations 11 visual examinations NOTE: The above summary reflects all examinations as scheduled for the first inspection of the third interval.
Some of the examinations may be deferred, depending on the next outage date and the required percentage of welds in each category.

Erosion/corrosion UT thickness examinations B. Westinghouse Electric Corporation will conduct:
- 1.
Technical Specification Eddy current examination on a random sampling of approximately 20% of the tubes in 23 steam Generator U-bend heat treatment of Row 2 tubes in 21, 22, 23, and 24 Steam Generators Eddy current examination of all Row 2 tubes in 21, 22, 23 and 24 Steam Generators, post U-bend heat treatment PIP of all Row 1 hot leg plugs with known bad heat numbers in 21, 22, 23; and 24 Steam Generators Mechanical tube plugging if required.

Wyle Laboratories will conduct:

Technical Specification Functional testing of four Steam Generator and one Main steam hydraulic snubbers
NLR-N90049 D.
PSE&G Maintenance Department - Salem will conduct:
- 1.
ISI Approximately 17 safety/relief valve set pressure tests E.
PSE&G Site Services will conduct:
- 1.
ISI Visual examinations of approximately 342 Nuclear Class I, II, and III supports and approximately 134 snubbers (mechanical and hydraulic)
Functional testing of 11 mechanical snubbers as per Technical Specifications Functional testing of all PSA-1/4 and PSA-1/2 mechanical snubbers (approximately 22)
System leakage examinations Hydrostatic testing of Class I, II and III piping to satisfy the ten year requirement of ASME Section XI

10CFR50 Appendix J Local leak rate testing of all Type "B" penetrations and Type "C" valves
- 3.
NUREG 0585 Waste Gas System integrated leak rate test
