REQUEST FOR AMENDMENT, LICENSE CHANGE REQUEST 88-08 SALEM UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 Attached are revised pages for incorporation into License Change Request 88-08 previously submitted via PSE&G letter NLR-N89056 dated March 25, 1989.
The revised pages delete the previously requested surveillance requirements for fuses and the associated basis.
The deletion is being based on conversations held with Mr. Jim Stone, NRC Licensing Project Manager, and upon further review of License Amendment No. 9 issued for the Callaway Plant on the same subject.
The staff, in that amendment, recommended deletion of fuse surveillance from the Callaway Plant Technical Specifications and Standard Technical Specifications based on the conclusion that this type of surveillance is technically ineffective and unnecessary.
Therefore, PSE&G is deleting the requested surveillance from the proposed License Amendment.
