UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION PUBLIC SERVICE ELECTRIC AND GAS COMPANY DOCKET NO. 50-272 NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL OF APPLICATION FOR AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE 7590-01*
The United States Nuclear Regulatory Cormnission (the Commission) has granted the reouest of Public Service Electric and Gas Company (the licensee) to withdraw its October 15, 1984 application for a proposed amendment to Facility Operating License No. DPR-70 for Salem llnit 1 located in Salem County New llersey.
The amendment would have added MODE 2 to Table 3.3-3, Item 8e, in the APPLICABLE MODE column.
However, the proposed Table had an error.
The Commission issued a Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendment to Facility Operating License and Proposed No Significant Hazards Consideration Detennination and Opportunity for Hearing which was published in the Federal Register on July 17, 1985 (50 FR 29014).
By letter dated February 2, 1989, the licensee withdrew the proposed change.
For further details with respect to this action, see the application for amendment dated October 15, 1984 and the licensee's letter dated February 2, 1989 withdrawing the application for amendment.
The above documents are available for inspection at the Commission's Public Document Room, 2120 L Street N.W., Washington, D. C.

We hereby affirm that our Quality Assurance (QA) Program meets the requirements of 10CFR50, Appendix B, as submitted to the NRC in the Salem Generating Station Updated FSAR, Section 17.2.
We request approval of continued application of our QA program to the packaging and transportation of radioactive materials in accordance with the provisions of 10CFR71, Subpart H.
