TEN-YEAR INSERVICE INSPECTION SCHEDULE SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT NO. 1 DOCKET NO. 50-272 Attached please find a summary of inservice inspection examinations (Enclosure 1) to be performed during the upcoming Salem Unit 1 refueling outage scheduled to begin on October 3, 1987.
This is the last outage of the first ten-year ISI interval for Salem Unit 1.
The schedule for the performance of these examinations prior to and during the outage is noted on Enclosure

This information is being provided in accordance with Article IWA-6220(a) of Section XI of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

SUMMARY
SALEM UNIT I 1987 10 YEAR ISI OUTAGE LAST OF THE FIRST INSPECTION INTERVAL Contract/Station Jupport under the supervision and direction of the Salem ISI Group will conduct the following:
ISI STEAM GENERATORS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
- Thirty-nine(39) Ultrasonic Examinations on the Reactor Vessel utilizing a mechanized and remote technique with the lower internal removed.
Eleven(ll) Ultrasonic Examinations on other welds.
Numerous Liquid Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Examinations.
- Hydrostatic Testing of all class 1, 2, and 3 systems to satisfy Ten year requirements of ASME XI.
Twenty-seven(27) Pressure Boundary Visual Examinations including all Steam Generator primary manway bolting.
Visual Examinations on approximately 750 Nuclear Class 1, 2, and 3 supports.
Reactor vessel and lower internal visual examination.
Safety/Relief valve testing on approximately 20 valves.
Eddy Current Examinations on 12% of no. 14 Steam Generator tubes.
Sludge Removal on all Four(4) Steam Generators.
Foreign Object Search and Removal on all Four(4) Steam Generators.
Upper shell and "J" tube examination on oner Steam Generator.
Visual Examinations on all Mechanical and Hydraulic Snubbers.
Functional testing on Three{J)
Hydraulic and Fifteen(15) Mechanical Snubbers.
Type B & C Leak Rate tests on 122 valves, and 72 Penetrations.
Reactor Containment Intr~grated Leak Rate Test (Type "A" Test).
Service Pressure Leak Examinations.

The Outage is schedule to commence on October 3, 1987 and completed by December 4, 1987 -
