SCHEDULE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF DETAILED CONTROL ROOM DESIGN REVIEW (DCRDR) MODIFICATIONS SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-272/50-311 The purpose of this letter is to document the schedule for installing modifications to the Salem Generating Station Control Room which are necessary as a result of the Salem DCRDR.

This schedule, is in accordance with the agreements reached in a meeting with members of the NRC staff on May 21, 1987, in Bethesda, Maryland.

A detailed schedule for implementation of the modifications is attached along with a list of HEDs and their scheduled completion dates.

Major activities include construction of a full-sized detailed mockup of the Salem Control Rooms for evaluating proposed changes, modification of the Salem simulator prior to modification of the control rooms, and the actual modification of the control.rooms.

This plan will ensure that the modifications can be installed in the control room expeditiously and will enable the operations staff to be trained on the modifications prior to their installation in the control room.
