RESPONSE TO REQUEST TO WITHDRAW THE DIABLO CANYON POWER PLANT, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION
Dear Mr. Welsch:
On behalf of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), I am responding to your March 7, 2018 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18066A937), letter requesting to withdraw the Diablo Canyon Power Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 (DCPP), license renewal application (LRA), and all associated correspondence and commitments. Per your request of June 21, 2016 (ADAMS Accession No. ML16175A561), all work on the LRA by NRC staff and its contractors was suspended. The NRC cost activity codes associated with DCPP, Units 1 and 2 will now be formally closed. Enclosed is a draft copy of the notice to be published in the Federal Register regarding the withdrawal of the LRA for DCPP, Units 1 and 2.
Pursuant to the requirements in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 2, the Commission grants the PG&E request to withdraw the DCPP, Units 1 and 2 LRA, and all associated correspondence and commitments.
