Dear Mr. Saverot,
By letter dated December 8, 2017 [2], Holtec submitted responses to requests for additional information (RAis) from NRC staff [1]. Holtec noted in [2] that the response to RAI 8-1 was not included, and NRC staff would benefit from a holistic resolution that included the BFA-Tanks and BFA-Tanks Cassettes (BTCs) Quality Assurance (QA) issue. to this letter contains the response to RAI 8-1. Enclosures 2 and 3 contain the updated non-proprietary and proprietary versions of the Safety Analysis Report (Chapter 8),
respectively. Enclosure 4 is an exemption request related to RAI 8-1 for certain BFA-Tanks and BTCs not manufactured under Holtec's QA program. Enclosure 5 is Revision 6 of the BFA-Tanks and BTCs licensing drawing. Enclosures 3, 4 and 5 of this letter contain Holtec proprietary information. Therefore Enclosure 6 contains an affidavit pursuant to 10 CFR 2.390 requesting that Enclosures 3, 4 and 5 be withheld from public disclosure.
