Dear Mr. Varga:
FIRE PROTECTION NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS SALEM GENERATING STATION DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 As requested by Mr. J. Stang of your office, enclosed is a preliminary copy of the Auxiliary Building charging pump area sprinkler system layout drawing.
The system will be designed to provide a minimum density of 0.2 gpm/sq.ft. of floor area.
The system will be installed as per NFPA 13 for ordinary hazard occupancy.
All pipe supports will be designed to seismic criteria.
Our position on pressurizer heaters was identified in a letter dated January 27, 1984 (Liden to Martin).
As requested by Mr.
J. Stang, a copy of this letter is attached.
Our letter dated April 5, 1984 (Liden to Martin) identified additional fire protection features suggested for the peripheral rooms.
A copy of this letter is also attached.
We are currently developing responses to additional questions that Mr. Stang has.
We will provide you, within two weeks,
- responses to those questions or a schedule when responses will be available.
