Dear Dr. Murley:
RADIOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING PROGRAM SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 Our letter to you dated June 14, 1983, advised you, in accordance with Specification 3.2-5 of Appendix B to our facility operating licenses DPR 70 and DPR 75 for the Salem Generating Station, that milk samples were no longer obtainable from environmental sampling location 3Gl.
As a result, we subsequently initiated milk sampling at a new milk farm, location 3G2.
We have now been informed by the farmer at location 3Gl that milk production at this location\\has resumed; thus, we have re-established sampling for milk at iocation 3Gl and have discontinued sampling at location 3G2.
Please note also that PSE&G has instituted sampling of Salem's fresh water holding tank which is fed by onsite production wells Nos. 1, 3, and 5.
This composite sampling location (4S2) replaces ~ampling at the No. 1 production well location ~4Sl);
this change provides a more representative sample and avoids problems with sample collection when No. 1 production well pump is out of service.
