CONT EVALUATION OF IMPLICAT~ON OF SALEM EVENT, 10:00 A.M., WEDNESDAY,[ JULY 13, 1983, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, D.C.

The Commission continued its discussion with staff on the 12 generic actions in response to events at Salem (see SECY-83-248, Enclosure B).
The Commission requested:
(1) information on why the Japanese plants have fewer scrams;

(2) that staff submit to the Commission in October 1983 a list of persons with operating experience who would comprise a task group to develop general operating criteria (General Action 12 of Enclosure B).
In this connection Chairman Palladino requested that the resource requirements for the general operating criteria be identified in the appropriate program budget plan.
