Dear Mr. Allan:
CHANGE IN RADIOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING PROGRAM NO. 1 AND 2 UNIT SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-272 AND 50-311 As required by Appendix B to our Facility Operating License DPR-70 and DPR-75 for the Salem Generating Station, we are informing you in accordance with Environmental Technical specification 3.2.5 that milk samples can temporarily no longer be obtained from our environmental sampling location 3Gl.
We have been informed by the milk farm owner that his herd has contracted the contagious disease, Infectious Burcellosis.
In accordance with the direction of local health officials, milk production will no longer be permit-ted at this location until the disease is brought under con-trol.
We are making arrangements to obtain milk samples at another farm located in approximately the same sector and distance as soon as it is confirmed that the livestock is free of the disease.
