Mr. Steven A. Varga, CQief Operating Reactors Branch #1 Division of Licensing

Dear Mr. Varga:

NUREG 0737 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS GENERIC LETTER NO. 82-16 UNITS 1 AND 2 SALEM GENERATING STATION DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 We have reviewed our facility's Technical Specifications for consistency with the guidance provided in the subject letter.

The only item for which we do not presently have a formal specification is that regarding the limiting of working hours of the facility staff who perform safety-related functions.

We do have Administrative Procedures in place that conform to the requirements of Generic Letter 82-12.

We are presently revising a license amendment request involving numerous modifications to the Organization sections of the Technical Specifications.

We will include, in our revision, a request to include limits on working hours as specified in the guidelines attached to your letter.

Should you have any additional questions, we will be pleased to discuss them with you.
