ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FIRE PROTECTION REVIEW UNITS 1 AND 2 SALEM GENERATING STATION DOCKETS NO. 50-272 AND 50-311 This letter confirms recent telephone conversations regarding the review of our Fire Protection Program.
As discussed during a December 20, 1982 telephone conversation with your Messrs. Ross, Fisher, and Stang, we will install smoke detectors in those areas identified by Mr. Stang.
The areas involved are designated P2C-l, P2C-3, P2C-4, P2C-5, P2F-l and P2G-l in our previously submitted fire area drawings; we will also wrap B diesel control cable tray 2A217 between trays 2A258 and 2A218 in area P2H-l with FS195, one hour fire barrier material.
Additionally, we will install one non-safety grade Source Range Neutron Flux Monitor at the Hot Shutdown Panel on each unit.
These commitments should resolve all remaining open issues regarding the fire protection review.
