SAFETY EVALUATION OF THE REVISED PSE&G ROD EXCHANGE METHODOLOGY UNITS 1 AND 2 SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 The attached document describes the Safety Evaluation of the PSE&G Rod Exchange Methodology. The revisions have been made to incorporate comments received from your staff during our meeting in Bethesda, on August 10, 1982.
The attached Safety Evaluation has been reviewed by PSE&G and it has been concluded that the implementation of the revised Rod Exchange Methodology does not represent an unreviewed safety question as defined by 10CFR50.59.
This safety evaluation is transmitted for information.
The revised methodology will be implemented for Salem 1, Cycle 5 startup, currently scheduled for December 13, 1982.
