TYLER PUMPS NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-272, 50-311 In response to your telephone request concerning the subject pumps, we are providing the following information.

PSE&G has purchased four Hayward-Tyler pumps for use at the Salem Station.

These pumps have not yet been installed.

The purpose of these pumps is for use in the radioactive waste disposal system.

Although these pumps have been pur-chased as Nuclear Class 3, they are to be components of a non-safety related system.
