At th~ November 55> 1981 meeting the l i cens~e proposed to develop the details. of the approach to an area by area justifi'.c'ation discusseo at that meeting *. The November 19, 1981 meeting vrns held at the licensee's reque~t to discuss the details of this approach fol'* one specific plant area *. A. 1.ist of &tt.endees is_ enclosed.
Tile licensee chose to look,at the d.iesel generator control t'oom initially for tile purposes of this analysis *. *I_t ~;as pointed out by the lkensec that this area, in fact, had an automatic;: suppression system already and would not be part of the exemption request *. It was chosen. as a representative a!'ea only to demonstrate the analytical tool they had developed.
The licensee disr;;ussed at lengt~ with _the staff. their proposed analytical tool and presented examples of c~rve.s developed through its use *. These

Each cur*ve W?lS then inte-grated over time to establish an equivalent ASTM E~ll9 profile.
The staff concluded from this presentation that the.licensee's approach appeared to be acceptable but a final determination c;ould not be made until the staff completed its review of the. licensee's detailed calculations.
The staff expressed particular foterest in the calculations for the over...

The licensee stated they ~1ill:provide the. detai.led calculations in support of a specific area exemption-request to be forwarded to the staff in the near future.
