J. R. White during the period of June 29 - July 2, 1981.

Our response to your item of concern identified in your letter is as follows:

Item of Concern:

Our statement in the letter to the Director, NRC Region I dated July 7, 1980, that procedural changes pertaining to performirig and documenting daily reviews for anomalous gaseous releases had been completed was inaccurate, raising the concern that management controls were not sufficient to assure the accuracy of statements made.

Reply to Item of Concern:

The procedural changes pertaining to performance and documenting daily reviews for anomalous gaseous releases had not been accom-plished at the station due to an intercompany communication breakdown regarding commitments made.

The procedural changes were implemented by August l, 1981.

To correct the breakdown of management controls that caused the inaccuracy identified, all 8111300252 811125 PDR ADOCK 05000272 G
