TURBINE DISC INSPECTIONS NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 With reference to your August 21, 1981 letter, we have reviewed the four criteria for an acceptable Turbine Disc Inspection Schedule listed in the Safety Evaluation report attached to the letter.
We hereby commit to use the four criteria for scheduling future disc inspections at Salem.Units 1 and 2.
The Westinghouse letter of September 14, 1981 confirms that the initial inspection of the Salem Unit No. 2 Rotor Discs can take place in five years; however, in conformance with license con-dition 2.C(l7), "Turbine Inspection~~ of Facility Operating License No. DPR-75 for Salem No. 2 Unit, we will inspect the rotor discs at or befor~ the second refueling.
