SAFETY AND RELIEF VALVE TEST REQUIREMENTS NO. 2 UNIT SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-311 Mr. Eisenhut's letter dated October 31, 1980 transmitted NUREG-0737, "Clarification Of TMI Action Plan Requirements", and requested confirmation that*the imp.:).em~ntation dates given therein could be met.
PSE&G responded by letter dated.December 9, 1980, in which we indicated for Item II.D.l, that the EPRI safety and relief valve test P.rogram, originally scheduled for completion by July 1, 1981., was then scheduled for completion by September 1, 1981 and that the plant-specific report would be submitted by October 1,, 1981, based upon timely GOmpletion of the EPRI program.
Item II.D.l of NUREG-0737 also requir.es that plant-specific submittals confirmin,g the adequacy of *safety and relief valves, based on a prelim-inary review of the generic test program results by the licensee, be submitted by July 1, 1981.
PSE&G has subsequently been informed by EPRI that the present schedule for completion of the test program is October 1, 1981.
Section 22.3, Item II.D.l of Supplement 5 to the Salem Safety Evaluation Report addresses potential slips in the implementation schedules in that it requires.staff notification for such slips.

U.s. Nucl.ear Regulatory Commission 6/29/81 serves. to provide notification that, based upon the revised EPRI test program completion date, we will provide the July 1, 1981 plant-specific submittal by January l~ 1982.
