The licensee shall provide me:te:orolog.ical and dose assessment remote interrog.ation capability to meet the criteria of Appendix 2, NUREG-0654, R~v. 1 as follows:
(1) a functional description of upgraded capabil.ities by January 1, 1982,.(2) installation of. hardware *and software by July 1,.1982 and.(3) full operati:onal. capability by October 1,.. 1982.
RESPONSE
We commit to the above schedule with the following. exception:
PSE&G requests a four month period to install the systerri after approval is received from the NRC that the system presented in the functional description meets the intent of the NRC requirements.
2e The licensee shall provide substantiation that :the backup source of meteorological.information (NWs* office,* Greater Wilmington Airport)*. adequately characterizes: :the site conditions with re-
. gard to wind direction and wind speed, by July 1, 198:1.
RESPONSE
An analysis will be provided by July 1,. 19.81 that addresses :the relati:onship of me:te:orological parameters at the Salem* site to data from the Greater Wilmington Airpo:r:;t.:

The licensee shall provide substantiation that uncertainties associated with plume trajectory prediction,.associated with the occurrence of.sea-land breeze circulations within the plume ex-posure pathway zone, are compatible with the planned recornmen-
- dations for protective actions that would be based upon such pro-

RESPONSE
PSE&G will provide by July 1, 19.81 an analysis that addresses uncertainities associated with plume trajectory predictions due to sea-land breez.e effects.
Factors that will be considered include wind per-sistance,.expected duration of* release,.and the magnitude of. the source term..
. It.should.be noted that the NRC indicated.at the Emergency Planning. clarification meeting. held May. 5,.1981 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that there would be additional guidance forthcoming on meteorology as related to shore line environments and specific dispersion and do.se calculation tech-nigue;s.
It was indicated by NRC that this guidance would not be.available in the near *future.*
