Miraglia, Chief Licensing Branch 3 Division of Licensing OPERATING PERSONNEL AND STAFFING SHIFT MANNING SALEM GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-311 Safety Evaluation Report related to the operation of Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Unit No. 2, Supplement No. 5, Section 22.2 Full Power Requirements, I.A.1.3 Shift Manning requires regularly scheduled eight hour shifts (without reliance on routine use of overtime) commence by June 1, 1981.

ln order to comply with NRC requirements for fire brigade members we utilize an established fire school for training the operating shift personnel in approved fire fighting techniques.

we have. l?reviously scheduled the last shift to attend this training se~sion on June 1 and 2, 1981.

We, therefore, request th.at the* previous commitment to begin regularly scheduled eight hOur shifts without reliance on routine use of overtime be revised to commence by June 3, 1981.
