Dear Mr. Hughes:
Box 336 Alloway, New Jersey 08001 March 11, 1981 I am writing to you concerning the nuclear alert which occured in Salem County on 1'larch 11, 1981.
~l'his incident ended happy because it didn't materialize into a major disaster..But
~mat if it had, would Salem County have been prepared to meet the incident and the panic which would have risen.
I am a senior at Woodstown High School and I don't know very much about nuclear power.
I realized this fact today when it,.i-as announced that Salem County was in a nuclear alert.
I feel if nuclear powe.r is going to be ttsed, the people in the county of the plant sho1~ld be educated in nuclear power.
'I'he.y shm1ld.be informed of what to do in the event of a nuclear disaster in their area.
Today was a small example of what could happen, something has to be done to prevent panic injury ilo to a nuclear disaster in the future.
Thank you for your time and I horie you will consider this matter.
Sincerely yours, Lori L. Olson
