20555 Attention:
Mr. Frank J. Miraglia, Chief Licensing Branch 3 Gentlemen:
Division of Licensing Mr. Steven A. Varga, Chief Operatoring Reactors Branch 1 Division of Licensing POST-TMI REQUIREMENTS FOR THE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS FACILITY NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-272 AND 50-311 In response to your letter of February 18, 1981 requesting confirmation of implementation dates for the upgraded Emer-gency Response Facilities, we provide the following information:
The facility conceptual design description will be provided by June 1, 1981, with th~ exc~ption of the task functions of the individuals required to report to the TSC and EOF.
PSE&G has just completed an Emergency Plan exercise and has identified some deficiencies which must be factored into the plan.
Additionally, resource constraints due to the recent emergency planning licensing effort and correction of def i-c iencies would inhibit completion of the task functions by June 1, 1981.
Therefore, we request a two months extension for this task, proposing to submit the task functions by August 1, 1981.
At this time it is expected that the up-graded facilities will be operational by October 1, 1982.
