  • In the Matter of Public Service Electric and Gas Company (Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 2)

Docket No. 50~311

Dear Mr. Denton:

It is our understanding that Alfred C. Coleman, Jr. and Eleanor G. Coleman have petitioned the Nuclear Regulatory Commission seeking the issuance of an order to show cause for the Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 2. On the face of the document, Mr. and Mrs. Coleman invoked the pro-visions of 10 C.F.R. §§2.202 and 2.206. It is our understand~

ing that the -NRC will treat the request pursuant to these regulations and that the applicant, Public Service Electric and Gas Company ("PSE&G"), will have the opportunity to respond to the petition in due course.

I would appreciate your notifying me if my understanding of your treatment of this matter is incorrect so that we, as counsel for PSE&G, can take appropriate action.

Sincerely, Mark J. Wetterhahn Counsel for the Applicant MJW:ajp
