This letter will serve to CQnfirm our verba.l report to Mr. E. Brunner on Friday_. June 1" 1979,, advisinc; of a" potential. reportable occurreqc~

in accordance with Technical Specification 6.9.1.8.

During maintenance of No. 13 Component Coo.1.ing Pump,. 1iin.ear cra.cki.nq was obscerved on the pump i.mpel1er.

A spare.impe11er from ~e station storeroom was subaequently NDE tasted and al.so showed evidence of the same linear cracks-Both i.mpe11ers wi11 be :sent to t:he pump vendor for testing and eva1uation.

While waiting for a reply from the vendor. No~ 12 Colllponent Coo1inq Pump was dismant1ed and the iJnpeller inspeeted with the same cracking conditions noted..
