I am transmitting to you a copy of Figure 9.7-2, entitled 11The Fuel Handling Area 11 This figure should be attached after p. 9.7-10 of Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Units No. l and No. 2, Final Safety Analysis Report, Section 9,, as amended, filed by the Staff on April 2, 1979, in its NRC Staff Response to March 29, 1979 Order Following Prehearing Conference,* as Exhibit No. 3.
Due to problems experienced in reprodocing this figure, we \\'/ere unable to file it at the same time as the above-mentioned exhibit.
I vwuld also like to take this opportunity to explain why the affidavit of Jack N. Donohew, Jr., filed as part of the NRC Staff's Response To Licensee's Memorandum In Support of Its Motion For Summary Disposition, is unsigned.
Mr. Donohew was sent on an assignment outside of the Washington area, and so was unavailable to sign his affidavit before the filing date of March 31, 1979.
A signed copy of this affidav_it will be f.urnished as soon as M~. Donohew returns from his present assignment.
The Staff apologi'zes for any inconvenience which may have been caused by eith.er the presence of an unsigned affidavit in our Response, or the absence of Figure 9.7-2 from o~r exhibit.
