SUMMARY

OF THE FEBRUARY 8, 1979 ACRS COMMITTEE MEETING On February 8, 1979, the ACRS met with Public Service Electric and Gas Company and NRC personnel to discuss the application for an operating license for Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 2.

A copy of the transcript of this meeting is available in the NRC Public Document Room.

We gave a presentation concerning the differences between Unit 1 and Unit 2 as a result of changes required by the staff on Unit 2 during the Unit 2 operating license review.

We also had a discussion concerning the outstanding items and confirmatory items listed in Sections 1.7 and 1.8 of Supplement No. 3 to the Safety Evaluation Report.

Public Service Electric and Gas Company made a presentation concerning (1) plant description, and (2) operating experience at Salem Unit 1.

At the conclusion of the meeting the Chairman stated that the Committee could write a favorable letter.
